Wandsworth Mediation Service (WMS) is an established provider of conflict resolution services and training. In the last 20 years, our charity helped thousands of people manage conflict and develop the skills to communicate better. The majority of our services are free for Wandsworth residents. We are recipients of The King’s Award for Voluntary Service and finalists for ‘Mediation Provider of the Year’ award at the National Mediation Awards-2022.
Conflict Resolution
We offer free mediation and conflict coaching services for Wandsworth residents facing family or community relationship issues. Partly subsidised by fundraising, donations and our paid workplace and commercial mediations, where top UK mediators generously waive their fees to support our cause. In the 2023-24 financial year, we processed 243 enquiries, with a 97% resolution rate for mediated cases.
Training
We deliver workshops for local people and community groups (free), and organisations (paid-for), teaching communication and conflict resolution skills. We also work with schools, training children as peer mediators who resolve low-level pupil conflicts; and equipping secondary school students at risk of exclusion with emotional self-regulation skills. In the 2023-24 financial year, we delivered 28 workshops, training 189 people.
