Earlier this month, we delivered a Peer Mediation refresher training for 16 boys at Rokeby school in Kingston. This 3.5-hour session was highly interactive, with the school’s ELSA lead praising our trainer for their skills in “reading the room and knowing when the boys needed to be active”. The session was tailored to the school’s needs and focused on:
- Getting participants excited again about being peer mediators.
- Revisiting peer mediation steps.
- Building empathy skills by understanding feelings and needs in conflict.
- Improving their active listening skills.
- Managing mediations with confidence.
- Solving the challenges the peer mediators have faced so far.
“You were absolutely brilliant with the boys. You also took on board all my requests and tailored the training completely to our needs. It was clear and engaging and I am sure the boys will take the lessons learned and use them to help in their mediation roles. I thoroughly recommend this training to any school who is looking to set up mediators, refresh their scheme or even those looking for workshops on team building, communication and conflict.” (Fleur Tattersall, Senior Teacher Pastoral, ELSA Lead)
